About Me

Most people might say I have an opinion on everything. I guess that’s fair enough. However, I usually only opine on things I feel most passionate about. Granted, lately that includes too many topics to mention right now. But… stay tuned. Originally, I had this blog on a free server, but I began to notice that my readers were dwindling, so I opted to self host for the time being.

I’ve lived in the USA all of my 70 years, and I’m not about to abandon her, nor my loved ones. I never dreamed we would be facing what we are now facing, as of April, 2025.

I began working with technology when I was 18 years old. I was the first data entry operator at the employment office in my home town. After one semester of college, I decided I wasn’t quite ready for that, so I started exploring other options. I took a course at the local TEC, called “keypunch.” I’ve been addicted to technology ever since.

In the 1990s, I created my first website on the now defunct Geocities. It was titled Alzheimer’s, a map for the journey, in honor of my father who was battling that evil disease at the time. Fortunately, he was entered into a drug trial and it slowed the progression of the disease temporarily. Eventually they ended that program because it didn’t help enough people, even though it had helped my father. It was a sad day for all of us.

My website became popular with our local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and was eventually included in a book of resources for those newly diagnosed and their caregivers.

I was busy with a family of six and did not realize that Geocities was ending and therefore my website was lost forever, as there were no cloud servers back then. It was another sad day.

Then I taught myself HTML, got certified, and started designing websites. Soon I expanded by providing hosting and domain name registrations. Eventually WordPress software was born and drastically reduced the need of webmasters and web designers. So now, I just do it for myself, although I have been known to help a few people once in awhile.

I am more spiritual than religious, although I do appreciate a good ritual now and again. I am a proud mother of two daughters, one is a cancer survivor and the other has MS, and they both have given me two beautiful grandsons. I also have two lovely stepdaughters and a stepson from previous marriages. I love them all and I’m proud of them all.

Welcome to my blog.
