Before Sushi went Global
I'll admit it, I still have not tried Sushi. My daughter loves it, and I intend to give it a try one day soon. I feel rather behind the times.
I guess it's because I didn't grow up with even the word Sushi, much less the eating of the raw blue fin tuna.
The globalization of food and technology is a wonderful thing, even though some of us are a little slow to incorporate new things into our daily lives. That's okay though. I'm sure I won't have it every day, or even every week, but I certainly will learn to enjoy it.
Here's some interesting info on the blue fin tuna before the American demand for it existed... you fishermen/women may enjoy this one.
Now, a couple hundred top quality blue fin tuna will sell for over a million dollars!!!

" Commercial fishers, if they caught bluefin at all, sold them for cat food when they could and trucked them to town dumps when they couldn't."
